World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats like crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is us ually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. In the case of items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them useless unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost its defense base while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it may change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain after upgrading, as well as the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circling arrows in the item menu. This will reroll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor could make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you will get from each point of health, so it's important to improve your armor as much as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

Potions

Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP total.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron drains the potion and refills the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece jewelry. It could also be an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not important, like a thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying a new one.
